Meet The Cast

If you wonder why the descriptions are somewhat vague and there is such a difference in the way each person chooses to draw them - that is because I am being purposefully vague. I want to see how people interpret the description - sure Hemlock does look a certain way to me - but I want to see how he looks in YOUR head, not mine! Hence I have not included my renditions of him here. I HAVE drawn him and Butterscotch and all the others, but they shall remain secreted away until the publication of the book is complete.

Hemlock

Hemlock is the Goblin hero. He is small in size but has a good heart and a lot of courage. He may not look much to the eyes, but you can depend on him. Here is his basic description (juvenile form):
"Standing no more than ten inches tall, he rather resembled an upright, naked rat with a pot-belly. His back was hunched, his legs bowed. Dull grey-green scales covered his body. A red tongue flicked across gleaming white teeth. He has spines running down his back and a three-pronged fork at the end of his tail. His back is covered in short spines, like those of a porcupine, which he can rise and rattle should be feel threatened."

In his adult form, Hemlock is rather more draconian in appearance - his muzzle is longer, his body held straighter. His scales are golden with a hint of green. He has wings too, that are cryptically coloured and leaf-like.

Butterscotch

Butterscotch is a Brownie. She is about 7 inches tall and resembles a small monkey. Her face is hairless, and she has big blue eyes and a snub nose. Her ears stick out and her hair is a tufted red mohawk. Otherwise she is covered in soft downy fur. She has a long prehensile tail and translucent wings. She is sassy and smart-mouthed. Usually she dresses in garish clothing.
